Ever wonder where your drinking water comes from? How about how the roads we drive on are built? Maybe you're interested in machining or mining? Are you curious what a human heart sounds like? From health care to engineering to everything in between, join one of our INSIGHT sessions to get an in-depth look at a specific program.
INSIGHT events run from February to early May and are available to students in grades 11 and 12 as well as high school graduates. It is a great opportunity for you to experience a Sask Polytech program first-hand. Check back for further updates for upcoming INSIGHT sessions.

The Engineering Design and Drafting Technology (EDDT) program develops skilled draftspersons capable of designing and drafting in municipal, structural and manufacturing industries. Spend the day with the Civil Engineering Technologies (Civil Construction option or Water Resources option) and Environmental Engineering Technology programs.
Our spring field camp will be underway and participants will spend the day with some of our students as they survey, drill for soil samples, monitor water quality, measure weather conditions and explore the water cycle. They will also have a chance to meet our staff and tour our new laboratory facilities. Be prepared for all kinds of weather - rain, sun, snow! Lunch will be provided. March 20: Geographic Information Science, Integrated Resource Management & Resource and Environmental Law
Location: NRT Lab (H128), Technical Building, at Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Prince Albert Campus
Have you ever hovered your computer mouse over a map image and a name pops up? This is the simplest of geographic information science (GIS) applications. If you have good computer skills, a keen eye for detail, and an interest in project management from conceptual design to rollout, the Geographic Information Science program will interest you. Geographic information science is a relatively new field that uses computer technology to link maps to digital data. Resource managers and urban planners rely on the expertise of GIS technicians when they are making critical decisions about asset management, environmental assessment, development, and harvest. GIS skills are applicable in any organization that maintains assets in the environment. Graduates work with mines and resources, utility companies, First Nations, urban and rural municipalities and health care agencies, to maintain information with geospatial reference.
